The Garmin nuvi 760 is the best GPS units available for its price; loaded with features, sturdy casing, and ease of mounting, at a price between $800-850 - you will be getting your money's worth with this item.
Compact size of 4.8" x 3.0" x 0 .8", nuvi 760 is no lightweight when it comes to performance. The high quality construction is obvious. It is contained within a black frame and has a stylish 2-toned design, with a center silver band and metallic black in the back and front. It is a stylish and professional, using a clean, elegant design which feels solid as you hold it, no fear of it breaking with little provocation.
Among its features, some of the highlights have to do with its wide range access possibilities. It has a built-in FM transmitter with power cable which allows you to listen to the radio through your car stereo system. It is Bluetooth ready and has access to Live Traffic to alert you to current road conditions. The map access covers the entire North American area. And that's just the beginning!
Garmin nuvi 760 has bright 4.3-inch color touch screen display; this makes for easy viewing and screen interaction. The display resolution is 480 x 272 pixels and a display type using WQVGA color TFT with white backlight. You will be able to see the screen night or day.
The nuvi 760 uses StarIII, a SiRF's high performance indoor antenna, which almost guarantees you will rarely use the external antenna connector - less cabling to tangle your unit and easier access to mount and dismount as needed. StarIII will give you wider coverage than most systems on the market.
Garmin nuvi 760 has a small microphone hole on the left frame for your Bluetooth unit which makes it easy for using the cell phone while driving. Located near the microphone is an SD memory card slot that you can use to store digital photos or extra maps you need. Close to this is the headphone and audio out jack to allow you to listen to and transfer audio.
On the bottom is a mini-USB port for data transfer from your PC or Mac. Near the port, you will find the place where the 5 hour life-span battery can be changed. It is from this area where you can easily mount and dismount your GPS with its quick release cradle. It snaps on and off from the end of the mount which can rotate while remaining vibration-free when you drive.
The 700 series is as top of the line as you will get and Garmin has packed in great features for the nuvi 760. It will be hard to find something better in the same price range.
